About Us

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at Islamic University of Science and Technology, Kashmir was established in 2009 with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science & Data Science. The Department of Mathematical Sciences is one of the few math departments in the country to offer courses in actuarial science and the only such department in Jammu and Kashmir. It supports the University’s mission of fostering an interdisciplinary climate of scholarship and learning with an eye towards career development for our students. The Department offers five programs: B.Sc. (Mathematical Sciences), B.Sc. (Data Science), M.Sc. (Statistics), Ph.D. (Mathematics) and Ph.D. (Statistics).
