About Us
The Central Workshop at the Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST) was established in 2009 with the primary objective of imparting hands-on technical training to first-semester B.Tech students across all engineering disciplines. Over the years, its scope has expanded to cater to students from the Department of Food Technology as well as Government Polytechnic IUST, Pulwama.
Since its inception, the workshop has witnessed significant growth in terms of infrastructure and capital assets, enabling it to enhance the quality of practical training, support student-led projects, and contribute to minor maintenance requirements within the University. Currently serving approximately 600–700 students annually, the Central Workshop has emerged as a vital academic facility.
The Central Workshop offers a comprehensive range of machining, fabrication, and carpentry
facilities designed to support practical training, project work, and maintenance activities. The
